St Augustine Match
Lenham need to win every league game to be in with a chance of making the finals. In the last game we narrowly missed out to Malling despite a spirited effort from the girls. Today's challenge was St Augustine's, who also lost out 2-1 Malling. With this in mind it was a must win game for both schools.
Lenham made a terrible start as St Augustine raced clear and made it 1-0 in the opening minutes. The score stayed this way for 15 minutes until Erin made it 1-1 with a finish to bottom corner. With Mia showing excellent leadership from the back, the team was well motivated and were soon 3-1 up as Evie and Maddie both finished well.
In the final minutes of the half we scored our best goal, Mia and Megan showed excellent composure to start the move. The ball then went on to Crystal, Hollie and then out wide to Iris who crossed it in for Evie to score.
Into second half we added 3 more goals with Iris and Crystal both scoring good goals. There teacher said we are the strongest team that they have played. He also added how strong the leadership was within in the team. It was an excellent team effort and all students should be praised for their efforts. Hollie also returned to the team from injury and picked up three assists.
It was great to have three new additions in the team with Megan, Lola and Amber all playing really well.
