Welcome to Sixth Form
'Sixth-form students enjoy school, attend regularly and achieve well. They are very positive about their studies. In the sixth form, they choose from a range of academic and vocational courses. They also have opportunities to resit their GCSE examinations in English and mathematics. ' Ofsted 2019
The Lenham School Sixth Form aims to create a purposeful, friendly, and adult environment in which students are encouraged to develop a sense of independence and take responsibility for their study.
The Sixth Form years are important in shaping future careers and education, and we place importance in students’ academic achievement as well as their personal development. This includes increasing self-confidence and developing a sense of community responsibility. The Sixth Form is fully integrated within the school enabling Sixth Form students to be a positive role model for all younger students.
To improve students’ future employability and economic well-being, applicants who have not achieved a Grade 4 in GCSE English and Mathematics will be required to undertake a resit programme or other suitable literacy and numeracy study such as functional skills.
Our Sixth Form students achieve great success moving onto Higher Education and have a 100% success record in applications. We provide various enrichment opportunities as part of our Personal Development programme, including: a structured PSHE programme; leadership opportunities; careers guidance; educational visits and trips; work experience in a field related to their pathway.
Above all, the Sixth Form is about helping students to realise their potential, whether success at university, securing an apprenticeship or developing wider potential in a chosen career. If you require further information on our courses or to apply please go to Applying to our Sixth Form and the Head of Sixth Form, Mr Errey, will be in contact shortly.
