Relationship and Sex Education
Relationship and Sex Education (RSE) is the foundation of the Personal Development Curriculum, focusing on providing students with the life-skills that will enable them to make informed decisions and protect themselves against harmful and exploitative situations and how to form healthy relationships. RSE is therefore essential in safeguarding students.
The curriculum for RSE follows the requirements set out in statutory guidance. The curriculum is age-appropriate and builds upon the knowledge each year. RSE is delivered by a combination of trained colleagues, local partners and guest speakers which have included:
Maidstone Sexual Health Clinic- Contraception
The Boobettes- The Importance of Cancer Checks
County Lines/ The Police
‘Risk It’ Behaviour Programme
Our Personal Development Curriculum aims to help pupils develop the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to manage their lives, now and in the future. These skills and attributes help pupils to stay healthy, safe and prepare them for life and work in modern Britain. Our full detailed aims can be found in our PSHE policy.
