Continued success

Our Year 9 boys have progressed to the final 16 of the Kent Cup after a great result against Mascalls School.

It was bright start by TLS, when Ronnie made a nice touch and finished with composure to make it 1 - 0. Mascalls School posed two strikers of high quality, and they began to cause problems with their long ball style. Mascalls School levelled the game with a strike from range and it was GAME ON!

Louis put us back in front when he rounded the keeper to make it 2 - 1, soon after Mascalls School hit the bar, and Jenson made a brilliant save. At half time, we looked at keeping the defence narrower and competing more in midfield to prevent the long balls.

Declan starred in the second half as he set up goals for Louis and Henry. Mascalls School continued to cause problems and soon made it 4 - 2. Jenson again had to make two good saves in the second half and the defence had to work tirelessly to deal with the pace of the front two. Overall, we were the better side and missed several chances which could have made it slightly more comfortable.

The game ended 4 - 2 and we will go on to play Charles Darwin School or Tunbridge Wells Grammar School.
