Developing skills
Transferable skills are abilities that you can use in any job. You gain lots of skills by being at school which can be transferred to the workplace. You may also develop others skill if you have a job, do some volunteer work or do any work experience.
You probably already have lots of transferable skills that you could include on your CV or Job Applications that you don’t even realise you have.
These skills could include:
- Teamwork skills - being able to work productively as part of a team
- Communication skills - being able to communicate in lots of different means
- Research and analytical skills- being able to handle data, carry out research and write reports
- Time Management- Being organised and efficient with your time
- Numeracy skills- an important skill for the world of work
All of these skills are transferable to the world of work and important to include is any CV or Job Application.
